QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BIBLE:

· What is the Bible? How is it different from all other books?

“The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and it is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.” (The Baptist Faith & Message)

· Do I need to know a lot about the Bible before I start a Bible study?

Our Bible study is organized so that the first time visitor can understand and apply the teaching to his/her life. They are also designed so that the life-long student will be challenged! So, even if you’ve never opened a Bible before today – join us and you’ll feel right at home!

· Do I need a certain kind of Bible?

There are many different translations of the Bible. The teachers of this class recommend that you get one of the modern versions. We most often use The New American Standard Version in our teaching and would recommend that you select either this Bible or The New International Version.

How do I know if I am going to Heaven

· What is the 3 Ring Circus?

3 Ring Circus is one of more than 100 Bible Study Classes offered by Second Baptist Church. The class has almost 500 members who are Single Adults. Some of these members have never been married, some are divorced, and some are widowed. The class is all about relationships! The focus is on developing a powerful relationship with God, deep and meaningful relationships with others, and a healthy relationship with yourself. Please look at 3 Ring Circus or

· Can I attend without joining the church? How much does it cost? Where do I sign up? Do I need a ticket?

YES! This class is wide open. You can come for the first time on any Sunday. There is no fee attached to your attendance. You don’t need a ticket. You can actually register on line … or just show up next Sunday.

· What about my children?

You will find classes for all ages … beginning at birth. In fact we really specialize in children and teenagers. We think that church ought to be fun. The plan is for you to get your kids here the first time and we will work hard to see that they never want to miss a week from that point forward.

· What do I wear to class? Will I stand out – be singled out?

Most people dress business casual. You will never be asked to respond to a question in front of the group or to pray out loud or embarrassed in any way. Remember, our goal is for you to feel as comfortable as possible.
